ATLANTA – A record high, 1,454 student-athletes, was named to the 2020-21 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Commissioner’s All-Academic Team for maintaining at least a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average throughout the 2020-21 academic year.

Student-athletes with a 3.2 or higher were considered for all-academic team honors. The number of student-athletes selected in each sport is determined by the number of positions usually involved in that sport.

Fifty-five students from 11 institutions recorded a 4.0 grade point average.

Benedict College led all institutions in this year’s All-Academic Honors by capturing five all-academic team awards in football, women’s cross country, women’s tennis, women’s track and field, and softball.

Miles College, Morehouse College, Kentucky State University, and Spring Hill College each captured two team awards.
