TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – Sean McConnaughy has been chosen as the new head men’s soccer coach at Florida College.
McConnaughy, a San Diego, California native, graduated from Florida College in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in American Civilization. He was a member of the Florida College men’s soccer team for three years and scored 30 career goals.
For the past three years McConnaughy has been an assistant high school soccer coach in Hillsborough County. He has led his teams to districts all three years, and had seven 1st Team All-County selections.
McConnaughy replaces Payton “PJ” Anderson. Anderson stepped down from his role as the head men’s soccer coach at Florida College. Anderson announced to his team that his family is moving to Utah in the upcoming weeks where he will begin working with the Kaysville Church of Christ as an evangelist.
McConnaughy inherits a team that finished 7-10-1 and qualified again for the SSAC conference tournament.
“I’m very excited for this opportunity to give back to a program that gave me so much,” stated McConnaughy.
Please welcome Sean and his wife, Emily (Wolfe), to the FC family.
