GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has released a new brand identity that includes a new primary logo and a refined mission statement. The new logo brings a modern look that unifies all other brand marks and clearly distinguishes the NCCAA’s Biblical foundation with a cross imprinted between the “N” and “C”.
Watch the unveiling of the NCCAA’s new brand identity in the video below.
National Office staff collaborated with Angela Shoultz of Paper Airplanes throughout the design process to develop the new logo. The NCCAA’s website and mobile app also have a fresh look thanks to its partnership with SIDEARM Sports.
“I’m excited and proud of the outcome of the redesign process,” said Brandon Gilmore, NCCAA Director of Communications. “Our goal was to develop a modern look that differentiated us from other national associations, which we have done with the inclusion of the cross. I’m very thankful for the work of Elizabeth Chevry, NCCAA Communications Coordinator, and Angela Shoultz throughout the process.”
The cross is a subtle inclusion that utilizes negative space, yet eyes are initially drawn to it. Drawing people to the cross of Jesus Christ is also the overall desire of the NCCAA as an organization. The refined mission statement, seen below, clearly and concisely points to that desire.
“What an exciting season awaits as the NCCAA unveils a new logo and brand that further confirms our Biblical mission of service to Christ,” said Dan Wood, NCCAA Executive Director. “This new version of the association’s logo was championed by Brandon Gilmore, NCCAA Director of Communications, with assistance from graphic designer Angela Shoultz and significant input from NCCAA staff.”
The NCCAA also has released a new branding guide which can be seen below and downloaded as a PDF here. NCCAA member institutions will be communicated with on expectations for updating the NCCAA logo on their campuses and digital footprint.
