LIVINGSTON – Lone Star Conference opponent Angelo State has been added to the 2020 University of West Alabama football schedule, according to an announcement today by Tiger head coach Brett Gilliland and director of athletics Bobby Wallace.

Angelo State, located in San Angelo, Texas, will travel to Tiger Stadium on the UWA campus for a 6 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Rams finished 8-3 overall in 2019, 5-3 against LSC competition. This will be the first meeting between the Tigers and Rams.

In a related move, Tusculum will not travel to West Alabama for a scheduled Sept. 3 non-conference game due to the schedule restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. UWA was the only road non-conference game for the Pioneers in 2020 and NCAA maximums limit Division II football schedules to 10 games. The game is expected to be rescheduled for an upcoming season.

The Tigers are currently scheduled to open the 2020 season Sept. 12 by hosting Miles College. Gulf South  Conference play begins Sept. 19 at West Georgia. The Hall of Fame Game is Oct. 17 against defending national champion West Florida and Homecoming is set for Oct. 31 versus Delta State.
